Can't imagine that the major shareholders of yahoo are happy about having a lucrative microsoft deal go south....twice. Yahoo's gonna take a big hit in stocks.

Does this mean the end of yahoo? If it does, I think I'll promptly crap my pants. A lot of my internet stuff involves my yahoo e-mail account. However, I'd assume that if someone bought Yahoo, I'd still have my e-mail and what-not, it'd just be a differen e-mail address.

Don't think it will affect your e-mail or anything else. It will probably have more to do with search engines and advertising, Yahoo mail and "MyYahoo" will not change.

Hmm wouldn't this be pretty much a monopoly? I mean im no expert, but yahoo is the only organization that I can think of that could somewhat compete with google. They did about the same thing and no other search engines have been like google..

Don't know if there is a law about "INTERNET MONOPOLY", it kind of spanns every country there is. Then again, who would benefit from a monopoly law suit? Microsoft, that had the chance to buy Yahoo and backed out?

Heh yea ur right, im not sure if US laws apply on the internet, but then again, here in NJ we get taxed (of got taxed) for downloading songs from itunes. I would think that google might raise advertisement prices higher. They have been buying a lot of companies and with their lowered stocks recently they might be wanting to make some money. With their buying of youtube and doubleclick, they are becoming somewhat like a monopoly, the next site that we will see falling to google might be wikipedia or facebook :O... Not good

Oh well, internet monopoly on a grand scale is probably of little effect.... idk
